Amid, amidst a crashing world ? "
The song is more about depicting a state of wandering and exploring in immense loneliness.
The uncertainty of one‘s identity, not knowing one’s position in the system of symbols and order —— this is a kind of Kafkaesque bewilderment towards being disjointed.
The song seems to express a conscious feeling of disassociation of one's subjectivity, perhaps a modern existential crisis.
Yet, the singer is exploring and yearning for recognition of their existence. Trapped in the contradiction between the individual and the system, the singer keeps questioning and introspecting, singing with a desire to step out of this mental crisis.
